_The following paintings are by Shakuntala Patade.
These have been done over a period of 30 years . As a teacher living in Bombay her walks between school and home would take her through neighborhoods of prostitution where sex trafficking took place. Her inspiration is from those sad and scary moments that diminish young girls/women to a piece of goods. All proceeds from any sale will go straight to "Global Bridges" - a global organization aiming to train lay people in social services and understanding how to meet the basic needs of mental health. Most of her paintings revolve around the condition of women and the girl-child. Her works also includes telling the stories of controversial historical topics of genocide.
